As 2022 comes to a close, we’d like to thank all of you for your support over the past year. We are so grateful for the OneSignal community and the opportunity to learn from you. Your feedback has been invaluable and has helped us continually improve and grow our community of users to over 1.8 million in 2022.

In the past year, we’ve added many new features and improvements to our platform, making it even easier for our users to connect with their customers. In case you missed these major milestones, here is a roundup of our top feature releases built to improve your customer communications and grow engagement.

1. Omnichannel Journeys for Push, Email, In-App, and SMS

This year, we launched Journeys, our messaging workflow builder! It was one of our top product requests, and we worked with our users to make build an amazing product that solves your needs. Use Journeys to create multi-step sequences and combine all of your channels (across push, email, in-app, and SMS) to create effective customer messaging. Leverage a Split Branch, Time Window, or other messaging logic to test your messaging and create personalized workflows.

2. New OneSignal Email Provider

We added another way to start sending email with OneSignal. Now you can choose to use OneSignal as your email provider, or you can still choose to integrate your current ESP. This is a great option for those who are new to email or looking to consolidate vendors. 3. Live Activities

We were among the first to launch support for Live Activities (and are the only solution making it available to everyone). Live Activities display up-to-date information from your app directly on the iOS lock screen for up to 8 hours, making it easier for app users to follow their delivery, a live game, an important event, or other activity. Leverage a Live Activity to nurture your most loyal customers, add delight to transactional experiences, and encourage repeat purchases.

4. Email A/B Testing

A/B testing is the cornerstone of a data-driven marketing strategy, and email is an especially powerful channel to test and optimize. That’s why we expanded our intuitive A/B testing tool to support email. Try testing different CTAs, subject lines, and layouts to optimize your messaging and increase email conversions quickly.

5. User Profile Page

We heard your need to better analyze your users and their messaging experience. That’s why built the new user profile page this year. The user profile page provides a more complete overview of your user and offers another no-code way to manage your customer data. And the new Activity Timeline helpfully displays recent messaging activity for the user, including sends, deliveries, and clicks. We will continue to invest in new user-oriented features in 2023.

6. HTML Editors for Email and In-App

We heard from our more technical users that they want to be able to fully customize their messaging. That’s why we built full HTML editors for email and in-app this year. Now, you can get creative and create unique messaging experiences directly from the OneSignal dashboard.

7. HTML Templates for In-App

We’ve created 5 professionally-designed HTML templates to help you capture leads, easily get quick feedback from your users, and walk your users through important communications. You can also can get creative and create totally unique mobile app experiences with our full HTML in-app editor. Don’t have technical resources? 8. 20+ UX Improvements

In our first Polishathon, the team released over 20 key improvements that help you do more, faster. We launched exciting improvements like Segment search, Data Tag autocompletion, and more. 9. New Partnership with Google Cloud Platform

With the new OneSignal and Google Cloud Platform partnership, you can easily create a customer engagement experience native to the Google Cloud environment and purchase OneSignal services through the Google Cloud Marketplace. This partnership streamlines the procurement and deployment process, fuels customer retention, and powers more robust mobile apps on Google Cloud.

10. New and Improved Integrations

We launched a new integration with Adobe, and existing integrations were enhanced, to accelerate your customer engagement strategy. Send the right message to the right user in real-time by syncing your audiences and custom data across platforms. And sync your messaging and engagement events back to these other systems to create full data loops.
