Claude Skills Built for Mobile Marketers

Two skills to instantly improve the tone and timing of your sends.

Claude Skills Built for Mobile Marketers
What is a claude skill

What's a Claude Skill?

A Claude Skill is a curated knowledge pack you can hand to Claude before you ask it something. They function as a specific set of instructions and expertise built in ahead of time, so you can say goodbye to writing repetitive and meticulously crafted prompts every time.

In practice, that's the difference between spending ten minutes explaining your situation and hoping for a decent answer, and getting a specialist-level one in ten seconds because the groundwork's already done.

Speaking of prompts, what prompted these?

At OneSignal, we talk to mobile marketing teams every day, and the same two problems come up constantly: copy that leans on pressure and manipulation because it's the fastest habit to reach for, and the recurring "what do I even send this week" blank-page problem.

Instead of writing another blog post about best practices, we packaged what we've learned here. Everything from published behavioral science, to our own aggregate engagement data, and years of watching what actually works across thousands of mobile apps folded into these Skills anyone can use.

Skill 1: Copy Framer

Old habits die hard, especially the copywriting ones that have crept into mobile marketing over the years.

The Copy Framer gives your drafted notification copy a second look and offers a version that leans on clear, confident language instead of the pressure so many of your users have come to expect. This skill is focused on helping you earn more trust (and better retention) than urgency ever could.

What came in

The version most teams would send without a second thought.

What came in
What the skill sees

Three flagged phrases, each doing the work of pressure instead of persuasion.

What the skill sees
What ships

Nothing about the ask changed, except how it feels to read it.

What ships
What to give it:
  • The copy itself
  • The channel (push, email, SMS or RCS, in-app)
  • Where this person is in their relationship with you right now (new, active, lapsed, renewing)
  • What user action you're targeting (browse back, renew, finish onboarding, etc.)
What you'll get back:
  • What's already working in your draft
  • The specific pressure patterns it found, named clearly
  • A rewritten version
  • One line per change explaining why it works
Where this fits into your week:
  • Before any win-back or renewal send, this is exactly where pressure tactics are most tempting and least effective
  • As a gut-check on old templates you inherited and have never actually questioned
  • Run a full campaign sequence through it before a big launch, not just one-off messages

Skill 2: Moment Prompter

Blank pages never get easier to fill, especially the one on your content calendar that resets itself every single week.

Moment Prompter checks where you actually are on the calendar right now, including seasonal timing, payday cycles, cultural moments, and real engagement patterns, turning them into a short list of what's genuinely worth sending. This skill is focused on giving you a real head start (and some campaign nuance) instead of a best guess dressed up as a plan.

What to give it:
  • Nothing required beyond today's date, which it already knows
  • Your app category (this sharpens results)
  • Optionally: your region/market and audience stage (new / active / lapsed)
What you'll get back:
  • 3-5 timely campaign ideas with sample push and email copy
  • A one-line reason for each and whether it's backed by real data or general industry convention, so you know how much to trust it
  • A warning if the moment is already crowded (so you're not sending the same "Black Friday" push as everyone else in your category)
  • A suggested audience and a simple send sequence for each idea
Where this fits into your week:
  • A Monday-morning planning ritual to fill next week's calendar
  • Whenever a holiday or cultural moment is coming up and you're not sure it's actually worth messaging around
  • A sanity check before you pile onto an oversaturated moment everyone else is already shouting into
